A standard test takes about 20 seconds and can use 100–400 MB on fast connections.

How to test mobile data speed

  1. Turn off WiFi so the phone uses mobile data.
  2. Check the network icon shows 4G or LTE, not 3G or E.
  3. Press GO. Run it two or three times at different spots — mobile speed changes a lot within a few metres.

Data use: on a fast 4G connection a full test can use 100–400 MB. On a small bundle, use the ping test instead.

What speed should I expect on 4G in Pakistan?

4G speed depends far more on your location, signal strength and how many people share the tower than on the network name. Indoors in a crowded area during the evening you may see single-digit Mbps; outdoors near a tower late at night the same SIM can be many times faster. Compare networks in your own area rather than relying on national averages.

Which network is fastest?

The answer is local. A network that is fastest in one part of Karachi can be slow in a village in Punjab. The fairest comparison is to test two SIMs side by side at the same place and time. See each operator's page: Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone.

Is 5G available in Pakistan?

Pakistan's 5G rollout has depended on spectrum auctions managed by the government and PTA. Check your operator's website for current 5G coverage before buying a 5G phone just for speed. A good 4G signal remains the main factor for most users today.
